Gamification: Reward Systems Built with Sahha

A reward system built on top of Sahha’s health scores and archetypes should incentivis\ze:

  • Sustained product/app engagement
  • Reinforce health & lifestyle behaviors
  • Create a personalized product/app experience

The goal of this system is to retain user engagement by using Sahha Scores, Archetypes and Biomarkers as a core pillar of engagement. Rather than a one-size-fits-all approach, the system should be dynamic, adapting rewards based on individual health and lifestyle trends while fostering long-term customer loyalty.

We've split this into two common approaches for building reward systems:

Let's dive in

Loyalty Programs & Tiers

Implementing health/lifestyle membership tiers for each users based on loyalty to the app and their health & lifestyle.

Impact: Creates personalized loyalty, keeps customers engaged long-term, and boosts repeat purchases.

In this example we will focus on a hypothetical loyalty tier feature within a food/nutrition app where user earn exclusive meal discounts or unlockables for maintaining loyalty to their app and to their health or lifestyle based on Sahha Data.

The example features a dynamic membership system where users advance through tiers (Bronze → Silver → Gold → Platinum) based on their health & lifestyle trends, not just purchases.

Sahha Score

Purpose in the Reward System

Activity Score

Measures consistency in movement and physical engagement

Sleep Score

Encourages proper rest and recovery to sustain healthy habits

Readiness Score

Rewards users for maintaining an optimal balance between activity and recovery

How It Works

  • Users who connect their health data to app unlock tiered benefits.
  • Users unlock better meal perks (e.g., discounts, exclusive recipes, early access to wellness meals) as they sustain healthy habits over time
  • The system factors in sleep, readiness, and activity balance for long-term health optimization rather than rewarding extreme behavior
  • Higher health engagement (good sleep, consistent activity) = better discounts on wellness products.
    • Example: A user with great sleep & fitness consistency gets:
      • Free delivery on healthy foods
      • Monthly free health snack samples
      • Special discounts on curated wellness bundles

Example Implementation Strategy

Tier

Requirement

Rewards

Bronze

Minimal activity and wellness scores, low engagement

Basic discounts on healthy meals

Silver

Moderate activity, improved sleep trends, and fair wellness

Personalized meal plan suggestions and access to wellness meal bundles

Gold

Consistent medium+ scores across all health metrics

Weekly health challenges, deeper discounts, and VIP meal offerings

Platinum

High and sustained scores for a longer period

Premium subscription benefits, exclusive nutritionist-curated meals, and personalized wellness experience

All Tiers

Tailored "Health Packs"

Introduce pre-built “Health Packs” powered by Sahha insights (e.g., “Energy Boost Pack,” “Stress-Relief Pack”).

  • Users see contextual health recommendations for each pack, explaining why each product is included.
  • Introduce limited-time exclusive health packs (e.g., “Winter Immunity Pack” with seasonal health-focused foods)

Example Experimentation & A/B Testing

  • Test Thematic Messaging: “Functional Foods for Sleep” vs. “Doctor-Backed Sleep Nutrition.”
  • Compare Individual vs. Bundled Purchases: Are loyalty program users more likely to buy multiple products when sold through the program, as a pack or individually?
  • Optimize Pricing & Discounts: Do discounts provided within loyalty programs increase conversion?

Example Key Metrics & ROI Measurement

Attach Rate → % of users who opt into loyalty programs or buy health packs vs. individual products.

Perceived Value → Do loyalty users engagement more, retain longer and drive more revenue?

Bundle Retention → Do regular users or loyalty repurchase curated packs?

Challenge / Streak Reward System

Implementing rewards based on maintaining healthy lifestyle and behavior for each user. Impact:

Impact: Turns services, product content or shopping into an engaging, rewarding habit that keeps users coming back daily.

In this example we will focus on a hypothetical reward feature within a food/nutrition app where user earn exclusive meal discounts or unlockables for maintaining health or lifestyle streaks based on Sahha Data.

Sahha Data

Purpose in the Reward System

Activity Score

Encourages movement consistency and regular physical engagement

Sleep Score

Rewards users for improving rest and maintaining good sleep habits

Readiness Score

Prevents burnout and promotes a balance between activity and recovery

Wellbeing Score

Supports holistic wellness and mental well-being improvements

How It Works

  • A personalized health or lifestyle goal is set (e.g., maintain a medium+ Activity Score for 5 days in a row) to unlock discounts or wellness perks
  • Challenges adjust dynamically based on user behavior. If a user has low Readiness Scores, the challenge shifts from high activity to restorative practices (e.g., improving Sleep Scores)

Example Implementation

Challenge Duration

Requirement

Reward

3-Day Challenge

Medium+ Activity and Sleep Scores for 3 consecutive days

Small discount or free meal add-on

7-Day Challenge

Consistent medium+ scores across multiple Sahha health metrics

Free wellness meal or access to exclusive product recommendations

14-Day Challenge

Maintaining health balance without extreme highs or lows

Premium meal rewards, long-term subscription perks

Example Implementation Strategy

  • “Earn rewards for healthy habits”: App rewards users who achieve health milestones.
  • Example: 7 days of consistent sleep → Unlock 10% off herbal teas or superfoods.
  • Show a progress bar in the app that tracks health streaks & upcoming rewards.
  • Implement badges & leaderboards to make the experience competitive.
  • Flexible streaks: If a user misses a day, they can earn it back by focusing on another wellness metric (e.g., improving sleep instead of activity)
  • Personalization: AI can adjust streak challenges based on past trends and user preferences

Example Experimentation & A/B Testing

  • Gamification vs. No Gamification: One group sees streak-based rewards, the other does not.
  • Short vs. Long Reward Cycles: Does a 3-day streak work better than a 7-day streak?
  • Different Reward Types: Test whether discounts, free samples, or exclusive products drive higher engagement.

Example Key Metrics & ROI Measurement

Engagement Lift → Do users who see streaks return to the app more frequently?

Purchase Frequency → Are streak-driven users ordering more frequently than non-gamified users?

Customer Lifetime Value (LTV) → Do gamified users stay longer & spend more over time?
